Tracers in the Dark

In Tracers in the Dark, Andy Greenberg looks at cryptocurrency, cybercrime, and the investigators trying to trace transactions that were supposed to be anonymous. It is part technology story and part investigative chase.

My impressions

What I found most interesting was how something many people assume is untraceable can still leave patterns and breadcrumbs for skilled investigators to follow.

It also raises the privacy versus security question in a real way. The same systems that can support financial freedom can also be exploited by bad actors.
