About Me
I got into this field by fixing things first and studying the why right after.
I am a Navy veteran currently finishing my Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at DeVry University. Before any of this turned into certs, cloud labs, and portfolio projects, I spent over a decade working in advanced electronics, radar, weapons systems, and the kind of troubleshooting where you do not really get the luxury of guessing. That experience still shapes how I approach tech now. I like being hands on, I like figuring out why something broke, and I like leaving a system cleaner than I found it.
After the Navy, I leaned hard into cybersecurity and cloud work. That turned into school, internships, and a lot of practical lab time across Department of Defense and Department of Energy environments. I have worked with Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, security posture validation, account migrations, documentation, remote networking, and general systems support. What I enjoy most is that mix of analysis and real implementation. Reading is great, but I learn best when I am building, testing, breaking, fixing, and documenting the whole thing.
This portfolio is really a snapshot of that process. Some of it is coursework that I pushed further than the assignment required. Some of it is project work that started small and kept growing because I wanted it to be something worth showing. Whether it is an AWS write up, a Raspberry Pi project, or the weather station build I have been working through, I tend to treat each one as a chance to sharpen both the technical side and the communication side.
